LVD Manager vers. 1.7.0.8

(08 May 2023)

Different Hardware Versions

During the time some hardware improvements was introduced and the following

hardware versions exist (models HA and AL):

0(or 1). in period from May to Aug 2017 - first release

2. since Sept 2017 - minor pcb improvements.

3. since Nov 2017 there are a few major improvements:

a) 'Soft start' feature introduced. This is 'must have' feature for

large capacitive loads such as inverters. Also it protects from short circuit

or overload. This is true only on 'turn on' time not while it is already in 'on' state.

b) Temperature is always measured and available to watch.

This is different in early versions where temp. readings was available

only when voltage on input is more than 5V.

4. since Sept 2018 - minor pcb improvements for AL models.

5. since Nov 2020 - minor pcb improvements for AL models.

The newest PL and HB models has different MCU and therefore hardware version numbers are:

PL model

1. since May 2019 - initial version.

HB model

1. since Jan 2020 - initial version.

New and Updated Features

since 1.7.0.8 (current version)

Lot of new features and improvements added.

Changed device layout in view.

Values from "Working range" moved to LVD and OVD accordingly

and now named as instantaneous cut-off.

LVD and OVD now has "enable/disable" option.

Added Setup wizard.

Added advanced IO Port signal generator. It can be used to drive external

alarm buzzer or led as status indicator.

New firmware included for models:

HA, AL v.0.34b (Update must be applied in two steps. First to vers 0.33-mig then 0.34)

PL, HB v.0.34b

Note. Please save your current setup as this major update will reset to defaults.

since 1.6.0.0

Added support for newest PL devices.

Minor improvements and bug fixes.

New firmware included for models:

HA, AL v.0.31

PL, HB v.0.32

since 1.5.0.0

Added support for newest PL devices.

Minor improvements and bug fixes.

New firmware (v.0.30) added for all usb enabled models.

since 1.4.0.0

Minor improvements and bug fixes.

since 1.3.0.5

Fixed poor USB connection related issues.

since 1.3.0.2

New firmware (v.0.27) added for all usb enabled models.

IO port configuration tools added.

Sense source selector was added for overvoltage cut-off. Now it is possible

to use it as overcharge protection for batteries in

charger->(+in OVD +out)->battery topology.

since 1.3.0.0

New firmware (v.0.25) added for all usb enabled models.

Temperature control added for all devices with new firmware.

Please note that temperature sensor is located near power switch and

its main task is to protect device from overheat not to monitor ambient temperature.

since 1.2.0.0

New firmware (v.0.20) added for all usb enabled models.

since 1.1.0.0

Minor bug fixes. This version is available as auto update.

since 1.0.1.3

New firmware (v.0.17) added for all usb enabled models.

since 1.0.1.2

New firmware (v.0.15) added for all usb enabled models.

earlier versions

Lot of improvements and bug fixes. Please consider to upgrade form earlier versions.

Included firmwares and its change logs

To update firmware, in manager:
Right click on device name and select "Device Info" in drop down menu.
In "Device Info" window press Fw. Update btn.
In "Firmware update window" press "Select from library" btn. and then "Start update"

All USB enebled models.

v.0.34 (currently embedded version for models HA, AL, HB, PL)

This is major update. Almost all parts are reworked.

Note for models HA, AL. Update must be applied in two steps.

First to vers 0.33-mig then 0.34

v.0.31 (models HA, AL)

Added support for hardware version 5 where temperature sensor has been changed.

Please DO NOT downgrade hw vers 5 (models HA, AL) devices below fw vers 0.31

v.0.32 (models HB, PL)

Fixed bug - random failure on turn on.

v.0.30

Fixed IO port state on power reset.

Various small bug fixes and improvements.

v.0.29

Fuse Auto-reset time range limited to 3-60 secs. Default is 5 secs.

v.0.27

IO port configuration support added.

Overvoltage sense source selection (In/Out) added.

v.0.25

Temperature inside unit can now be monitored.

(early hardware versions (0-2) needs on input > 5V to mesure temp.)

Working range now has temperature min/max settings.

Please check these settings after update as they may have random values.

Various small bug fixes and improvements.

v.0.20

Fixed false SWITCH FAILURE state detection on sudden input voltage loss while

device was ON. Better fault detection on overheat and driver failure.

v.0.17

Auto-ON on power cycle feature added. After power reset if input voltage

will be in working range and not below lvd cut-off point then module

will turn ON automaticly. Normally you would need to reach lvd reconnect

threshold level to tourn it on.

v.0.15

Remote ON/OFF pins are swapped to confirm labeling.
